The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Warrior Group Introduced

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.

The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, wants vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Planners tables.

Viewers can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
